I turned to blogger after having a wordpress and found it much better. Although I did use the wordpress version without hosting, so I may just look into the other version.

I prefer Blogger, though I do rather wish that I'd done Blogger with my own domain name, so that I'd have the power to go elsewhere and take my links with me, just in case I ever want to. But so be it. I don't want the pretty programming toys, because the whole purpose of blogging for me is to Not Program. Programming is my job, and for a while it was also one of my hobbies, and I'm ready for a creative outlet that isn't about programming. Blogger is mindlessly easy, and I have no use for Wordpress's advantages, so that's my choice. I _would_ like static pages on Blogger, but I can live without them. If I ever can't live without them, I'll just go publish them somewhere else and point to them from Blogger. |

I still haven't moved my main blog to Wordpress. But I am looking forward to it, because I will be able to put professional looking ads on it if I choose to, plus will have automatic pinging services added to it. Right now I have to do this all by hand. Plus there are not as many blog template designs that I have found for Blogger. I'm still looking for that "perfect" design. I have found some nice free ones, but might wind up paying for something nice that I can customize. |

I like Blogger better for free blogs, Google has way more brand power while WP is on its way to the top. Blogger also lets you pimp your blog out instead of limit you to a select amount of tacky layouts. Once Wordpress steps up their game a bit, I'll give them a shot, but for right now, Blogger has my vote.

It is simple, if you want a free blog then use blogger and if you pay for your own domain and hosting then use WP. The best thing about blogger is that you can use it as a test market and put ads on there. I am testing a couple of content related theories on there right now and all it costs me is time.
