If you saw a bump in your Feedburner subscribers today it is because they are now counting FriendFeed RSS subscribers to your total. I saw a 2,500 subscriber increase and I had no idea why. This is why. Friendfeed Adds RSS Stats Tracking | CenterNetworks |

I had a large bump as well. Truthfully I think it's a bit fake, considering that I don't use my FF account as much as I use to and that FriendFeed never sends traffic my way. The only up side I can see is that my blog is newer and having a slightly larger subscriber count can instill confidence in new readers and people passing through from search traffic. If you want to get rid of the inflated count, just remove your blog from your FriendFeed account, I guess. |

Now I wish I put more effort into friendfeed rather then twitter :'( @JerHoyet the extra numbers do look nice, a low count on subscribers could make new reader weary of signing up.

I don't put much effort into FF either. The bump for me was due almost totally from twitter. FF lets you import your Twitter follower list and that is where most of the increase came from.

Guess it is a way Feedburner makes everybody happy, by artificially increasing the subscriber list ![]() Google at work... ha!
