I'm not sure if you are still looking for how to do this since it's like five days old, but whatever I'll help you out. If you add the "alt" tag to your image and add keywords for that image then google will find it and index it. You can read more about it on ProBlogger.

One more tip. Add your blog to Google Webmaster Tools. Go to Tools option and activate the Enhanced Image Search. It will index and include all your web sites images for Google Image Search.

I have close to 4,000 images and have been working on this since May. This is what I found:
- Enhanced Image search has nothing to do with indexing per se. All it does is submit your images to their enhanced image tagging where people tag images. That's it. It doesn't to jack for the robot which indexes your site. - How you store the images matters. A lot. The naming scheme, directory, duplicate images all matter in determining if it gets indexed. - Getting one image in a popular article indexed is a whole different thing than trying to get a whole site of images indexed. Google Image is much more a black art and dumb luck than regular text indexing. |

I name my image files with the keywords, plus use the keywords in the alt tag. I also store them on my site, since I want them to come to my site when they are doing an image search, not go to flickr or wherever.
