 Is .Gov and .edu websites ....
I have a question about .gov and .edu websites. Are these sites good for page ranking, search engine optimization by getting backlinks?

I keeping seeing people selling them like they are gold dust but I'm not sure. Google might rate the link of more worth as the sites "should" be authoritative.

.EDU and .GOV domains are NOT accessible to be bought from the public. They are given to governments and educational institutions. Therefor typically by the nature of their business they have strong backlinks and getting a backlink from them is a good vote that your blog is NOT spam. That being said... If someone is SELLING any links like this don't even THINK about it. Engines will know when 1 particular place is linking to many non significant sites and I assume it would harm you more then help you. That being said a genuine legitimate link from one of these sources definitely plays a positive role.
