Is a toolber good idea for blog promotion?

What do you think? Is a toolbar good method to promote blog?

I just checked it out; I don't really see the point in having one? Like what benefits does it bring to navigation and the readership?

I have not added that feature yet but you can send personal messages to users in form of a popup (small one at bottom/top) or in form of a personal inbox.

And I also post alerts when I make a new post.

You hit the nail on the head. I build custom toolbars for people, based on their requests. The ones that get downloaded the most have popup blockers, privacy features (erasing history, etc) and news feeds that are tailored to their interests. If you simply have links back to your own site, very few people will download it.

That being said, if you want a toolbar for your blog, hit me up. I can give you some tips on what works and what doesn't, and build you something nice for cheap. Just dont ask me to build you a toolbar that can't be uninstalled, or that installs spyware. I wont do it.

Thanks! I will add pop up blocker and Privacy Featurs soon. My toolbar is uninstallable like other firefox add ons. Moreover, it can check if you have got new mail.
