Question What different Pay Per Click PPC Sites have You Used?

Which Pay Per Click sites have you used and what did you think of them?

I'm thinking of doing a PPC campaign for fun and am really curious about all of your thoughts.

Thanks,
Rob

  • Google, Yahoo, and MSN The big three or now I guess the big two really
  • Kanoodle - it's cheap traffic and great feeder traffic but not quality imo
  • 7 Search - again cheap feeder traffic but its hulled off of parked domains mostly
  • Adbrite - they used to be good but not so happy with my results lately
  • Advertise.com - this was pretty much break even type advertising, I wasn't impressed

These are just the ones I've used over the last 3 months but I have a lot of experience with most of them in one way or another if your curious about any one in particular I am happy to share my thoughts and opinions of it?

Oh and I have also recently used Sponsored Tweets and Mylikes for Twitter PPC. Both were worth the investment if you have content that can be used to entice (read link bait) but Mylikes way outperformed sponsored tweets in quality.

I've heard that when you start doing PPC, avoid adwords as it is a bit complex. Might be better to start with yahoo or bing

Adwords is still the Daddy of all PPC. But it's also one of the strictest traffic sources to work with. And as for the Google Customer Service team, yeah...have fun with that empty inbox.

I've used most search-based PPC platforms, and had mixed results. But these days, I mainly buy traffic on social platforms. Facebook, POF, etc...

That's where the money is for people in my line of work. But Adwords is never worth discounting if you happen to be running a business that they value.

It has been my experience it seems more complex because Google has so many more competitors in the system you have to work harder to refine and tweak your programs for success.

It has also been my experience for the same reasons that Bing/Yahoo give me better results for less money BUT and this is the kicker, they are VERY limited in how many search deliveries they have versus Google.

I have wondered about POF but have never tried them...yet. What has your experience/success with them been like Finch? If you don't mind me asking.

The quality of the traffic seems to be less stable. It fluctuates between very good, and average at best. But the targeting options make it a perfect match for some advertising campaigns.

One of the good things about dating sites is that users will submit a lot of information about themselves on to each profile. You can put together some highly targeted campaigns with the information. Especially if you're marketing a dating site, like I usually am.
