Pls Rank the Following Internet Marketing Techniques

How do you rank the following free Internet marketing techniques according to efficiency in getting steady traffic to a website selling infoproducts? Something like ranking them from 1 to 5, one being the most efficient and 5 as the last one will help me a lot in completing the research I'm writing.

- forum posting
- article marketing
- link exchanges
- social networks (MySpace, FaceBook, etc.)
- having a blog with link to your site and leaving comments on other blogs

I would put them in this order

1 - article marketing
2 - social networks (MySpace, FaceBook, etc.)
3 - having a blog with link to your site and leaving comments on other blogs
4 - forum posting
5 - link exchanges

Here is my opinion:

1 - link exchanges
2 - having a blog with link to your site and leaving comments on other blogs
3 - forum posting
4 - article marketing
5 - social networks (MySpace, FaceBook, etc.)

Social networking then article marketing the rest is minor. Facebook and myspace just about get as much traffic as google and backlinks from social networks are given more weight.

If it was something other than info products I would of given more weight to link exchanges, blog, forum posting.

If you basically just want peeps to come and buy your clickbank products etc then as Paul mentioned article marketing will be big and so will social networks.

That being said many large social networks have users that have no intention of going elsewhere. Most people go to facebook to look at pics / meet their old friends and that's part of the reason why it's advertising model isn't so hot.

Our RSS feed reader application has over 477 users and it doesn't bring that much traffic.

I'd have to rank them as follows:

- forum post (a captive audience if you really catter to their interests)
- social networks (great when it happens on its own, not so much when you force it)
- leaving comments (great for getting authors of more popular blogs to start reading you)
- link exchanges (I would rate this #1 but for a new blog youre bound to get mostly similar blogs to exchange with you)
- article marketing (Never worked for me)

In the end the perfect mix will really depend on your audience
