Default Using Yahoo Answers to Drive Traffic

I have been trying to use Yahoo Answers over the last 3 months and wanted to share some of my experiences with you.

According to google analytics I haven't had many referrals to my blog from Yahoo. That's mainly because I haven't been dropping links like there's no tomorrow, I have simly listed my source as 'being a vet student' and mentioned hte blog in my bio. As such, what I have noticed is a jump in search engine traffic from Yahoo, and for the terms 'Dr Ferox' 'Nearly Dr Ferox' and others relating to my name. The time each result spends on the site is very promising.

I have been steadily increasing my reputation and achiving 'best answers'. The trick to being voted as 'best answer' is to remember to go back and vote for yourself if the asker has forgotten to pick one.

Make sure you only answer questions that you can provide a usefull, honest answer too. Only drop a link to something you've written if it is relevant and helpfull. If you always drop your links, you'll be marked as spamming and booted.

I enjoy using it because I like being helpfull. But there are always people out there who are giving the wrong answers, and people believe them because they don't know any better. There's not much you can do about it other than tolerate the nutcases and idiots there. It just emans you get a better reputation for being helpful and sane.

I have yet to tap into this resource, but it seems to be pretty popular. I guess I will have to give it a shot. I do like the way you have gone about it - honest and ethical. That can only help in the long run.

I've been experimenting with this just a wee bit and it seems to be working out relatively well. I'm going to keep it up for another month or two to see what sort of long-term results I can achieve.

Yes, it's a great way to drive traffic to your site especially if the topic discussed is very helpful. It's even better if the Q&A gets certain PR and you will automatically get a backlink.

Great tip there, Ferox! And there's a real bonus in this method for those of us who have a nearly pathological urge to be helpful! LOL

Most definitely! Most of the questiosn I answer don't have a link with them because I haven't written on the topic, but still want to help.
