Does entrecard really help?

I recently realized how it worked so I signed up. I've been dropping a lot and getting some drops back along with 1 or 2 comments. The impressions have also gone up a lot. The problem is that my bounce rate is at least 80%.

Should I be spending my time getting traffic somewhere else? And if you're wondering I post at least once per day.

Entrecard algorithm is somewhat peculiar. If you want to take full advantage of it, then let others drop cards and as your queue gets long ,start dropping on selective targeted sites.

I'd stick with it for a while and focus on your own niche, I've picked up a few returnign readers and commentors form it.

Also, Entrecard in just about to implement a system where you can sell you credits back to the site, so hang onto it and see how that turns out.

So it is worth it to rent out someone's card or should I keep dropping and save up credits?

I personally get better results, in terms of bounce rate, everage page views per visitor and time spent on site, from dropping cards on people than advertising, but that's just me.

I think Entrecard is a great tool for getting out and getting noticed, I have slowed down on it a bit, but still see fairly decent results. I agree with Ferox on the dropping.

I get most of my traffic organically now, and other social sites, but Entrecard still brings in some loyal folks, keep it up and if anything you will find some great resources through it.

Yes, exposure is a definate result of Entrecard.com. I actually did a post today regarding the fact that I am just not sure about the traffic it sends.

Nonetheless, the exposure is nice for any blog.

I have an interesting obversation. The average time before I used entrecard was 52 seconds. Since i started using entrecard, it is 1 minute. Today I didn't post at all because I was really busy and I only have 19 seconds. I think that means I am getting lots of return readers.

sometimes entrecard users just visit your site to drop.. but.. I usually get lots of visitors from it specially if i created new post on my blogs.. just like what you experience The1337.. I notice the same thing..

I think that you are getting more visits now from entrecard, the average will be hovering around the same over time. Under 1 minute is probably most common for entrecard visitors.

I haven't been able to find any way to keep them on the site longer than just to drop a card...
