We need a hyphen basher in here... so here's one!
As much as I don't mind hyphens, it's going to be a bit rough if you are doing any word of mouth advertising. You don't want to have to tell people "visit my website at "the hyphen net hyphen foot dot com", you want "the net fool dot com". That's the best argument for avoiding hyphens in my mind. But otherwise, go ahead!

Can't really tell, but at least with hyphens you know people are going to read it the way you think they should. I can't think of any right now, but you have heard about domains that can have a totally unexpected meaning if you read them a certain way?

That is a good point and one to consider, but I am not going to plan ANY word of mouth My idea will be getting search traffic like no tomorrow. Thanks for the con though, I knew it wasn't all pros!

I have a hyphen, but honestly, I'd have used a non-hyphen version if it was available. It is very awkward to give people your URL when you meet them and have to remind them to put a "-" in the middle.

I now usually just tell them to search for "everything everywhere".

That isn't a bad idea provided you rank high for those words, which you most likely would, right?
