Currently getting 5-10 spam comments a day on my Ebay Blog, does this mean my marketing is paying off............LOL

Seriously though I guess this is a fall back for giving link love via the dofollow plugin...

Sadly sorta.

Typically if you aren't "out there" you won't get spammed. I get spammed to all heck everyday but have measures to combat it .

Yes, that means they have found you. Also, wordpress blogs tend to get spammed more then blogspot blogs because you can add your website in wordpress in the comment field without easier.

I would also imagine that ebay is a pretty hot term, so the spammers are gonna hit it harder then say a blog on surfing in Nicaragua.

Activate Askimet, or use captcha plugin if problem is really severe. Use comment moderation with 'comment preview' plugin.

Spam attraction is one of the perils of the dofollow plugin. At some point, you've got to decide whether the time you spend dealing with spam is worth the benefits of being dofollow... Askimet and Captcha both help, as mintblogger says. Be sure to keep your Askimet updated, too!
