greetings guys,

I was wondering if you have any tips on looking professional as a blogger.

after looking at blogs a lot I've realised that it's hard to tell sometimes if a blog is worth subscribing to based on the content alone. Sometimes they look scrappy but the blog has potential, but they've clearly just fired the blog up.

I wondered maybe if this is good criteria for professionalism and longevity:

If you found it through the search engines then they've put some effort into back linking etc therefore if the contents good but it looks a bit shabby it's maybe going somewhere...

ultimately I'm gonna work on the look of my blog though because i think some effort on graphics etc shows that you care about your baby-blog and you're willing to put the effort in.

Based on the title, I assumed you were talking to me.

I'm just a fan of keeping it simple and clean. Browse the WordPress Themes and find something that catches your eye. Then don't clutter it up with junk.

Just my $.02.

Keep plugins and sidebar trash out of the picture. you can see how things change over time with some blogs that realize all that extra stuff isn't worth anything to anyone.

Keeping up on your design and if you can get graphics made * * then it will look more professional, but you still need content to match. It's good to start early on though so that drastic changes aren't effecting reader experience on a large scale.

For your blog to look and feel quality, it has to be appealing, easy to find what your looking for, and good content

you made me laugh and some good advice thrown in too I guess anything that people are going to connect to online or off has to be well laid out and accessible and engaging.
