Does anyone have a good source in tracking these down, I have answered an ad for on my personal blog, gut tells me it's bad, but I honestly don't know enough, so I thought I'd throw it out to the pro's. Is there contact information on this website - NO big red flag.. the owner of the site had stated he knows what poor design, he is not even indexed on g - etc.. I'm pretty certain I have my answers, but would anyone like to chime in? I can pm you the link to the site, if anyone is interested in taking a look let me know. |

Thanks for your response, I wondered what the red flags were when people approached you or you answered an ad about affiliate marketing, I questioned the person, and have not heard back.. so I am assuming it was just that. Do the work for me, and then I will decide if you are partner-worthy is basically how the only response went.

Was this an email solicitation? I'd suggest you always verify the credibility of the source. Does the person launching it have a good online reputation of being fair and honest?

It was an ad that I had answered on a forum board.. and as I investigated it last week, it was a total scam, no real online presence, the website was atrocious and not even indexed.. so I think I answered my own question.

A fellow on a social website offered to hook me up today with a click through affiliate. I was kind of interested, so I asked for more details. Turned out it was for a payday loan thing, which would have pretty much destroyed any credibilty I have as someone writing about getting out of debt. You have to be so careful....

Yeah you have to be vigilant about the scammers that cruise webland. Personally i don't get involved in anything with strangers, If I want to get involved in something I tend to be on their email list for a while because thy are knowledgeable in a field and provide value to me. As far as your blog and affiliates go, you're a business....an information business. Now you may not be that big or have many readers but yyou're a professional on here trying to grow his business, and affiliate marketing is a part of your monetization plan. when it comes to getting good affiliate partners you wanna search out a good supplier of affiliate connections, cut out the tire kickers and scammers and just find a good professional supplier of relevant affiliate opportunities. Clickbank.com is a good starting point. hope this was useful guys, Keep choosing, Grant |

Hi Grant! Thanks for the referral to clickbank.com! I will check them out as soon as I am ready to start monetizing. I was just kind of amazed that anyone would think a personal finance blog would endorse payday loans in any way, shape, or form. |

Great advice all around - if it looks to good to be true..it usually is! I called this particular person out on the carpet, and imagine.. no response!
