Chris Brogan is one of the top 100 followed twitterer's. He's writing lot's on social media; seems like a cool guy as well.

Great that you found it useful. I am glad I included Chris Brogan's 'newbies guide to twitter.' Actually, I had assumed that most know about twitter but wanted to write about getting more out of twitter.

Keith, its just a matter of time you will find Microsoft's own version of twitter. You can then see Bill Gates twit.

I think Twitter has numerous uses but think of it like this. You can get people to subscribe to your RSS feed which is 1 blog. OR your full feed which is well YOU up close and personal and it includes whichever links or bloggeries you wish to share.

The more you "SHARE" the more you'll grow I think.

Twitter also has this fun element because you connect with so many people at an intimate level.

In my case, I don't just wish to share more but share valuable content. I have a high bar and post only that which is VERY good. On my blog, my standards are even higher. If a word does not add value, I cut it off. Why should my readers spend time?

Twittering has been fun. I just thoroughly enjoyed it. viewing it as a marketing tool is under utilizing it.

It's crazy too when you get a decent # of followers how you can ask questions and have them come back almost like a mastermind group.

Flip side is sometimes when having a convo with someone you forget it's being broadcast to 1000+ others.

A couple of quick questions:

1) Has anyone on this forum actually received any business benefit from using Twitter? If so, can you describe them.

2) The articles referred to, seems to be link bait, since all of the articles seem to be written in the same manner, with the same links. Has anyone verified what the articles are saying is accurate. I know many people on LinkedIn, for example, (I took myself off), and have never heard of anyone receiving any business benefits. They seem to exist for their own sake and for the benefit of LinkIn. But I would like to hear of other people's experiences.

Thanks for your comments.

Rich

Hey Rich,

Not sure about the articles but I've met people and networked with other bloggers / related fields I would of NEVER gotten in touch with. Most benefits aren't tangible YET however I have made some collaborations with other people which will help build both our businesses. I see it as a cyber bar where you can hang out, meet new people only difference is if someone thinks you're worth following they can tune into your RSS and hear everything you say so ... Gotta be careful what you say as it's not a private convo like IM.
