This is an idea that I would like to explore, but I have no experience with blog contests. In a couple of weeks I will reach my 100th smile post, this is a big deal to me, I really did not think that the site would take off like it has. How would you go about starting up the contest? How would you offer/generate prizes? Sponsors? What to offer the sponsors? so on and so forth. Any comments are appreciated. -The Smile Guy (sorry if this is not in the right area) Last edited by The Smile Guy; May 18th, 2008 at 11:56 PM. |

Well you definitely need to get started now. Talk to some people to see if they'd be willing to sponsor your contests by offering up prizes. Your sponsors get free links, which is usually what they want anyway. Once you get some prizes rounded up, figure out exactly how you want to run the contest and start getting the word out as much as possible.

Yea, the more I think about it I think that I should focus right now on other parts of the site. Here is a nice review I got. . . And it is a bit spur of the moment, I think I wil do this for the 1000th smile ![]() -The Smile Guy |

Yeah, or maybe even the year mark or 500, etc....there's no harm in having some smaller contests in the mean time to pull people in. I just don't know if you can make it a huge celebration with lots of prizes/sponsors like you want in a couple short weeks.
