I relented and signed up for twitter as part of my plan to at least investiage a few of the methods I've neglected in terms of blog promotion.
My question is, how do you use it? Do you update daily, or more frequently? And do you just say what has happened, or "Such and such happened, I should write a post about that" ?

I've been using Twitter for quite some time, and a large number of new users wonder, "What to do next?", after they login first time.
Ok, let me share my experience. As we all know it's micro blogging service. Whatever you punch in it, is instantly delivered to your followers. Now take an example, You have 500 followers and your new blog post's excerpt with a link is automatically delivered to these 500 followers as soon as you press the publish button. If 10% of them will click the link, still you have 50 unique visitors almost immediately to your blog post. To make this happen, visit TwitterFeed, and if you get stuck there, feel free to ask me for help. Now let's take the other uses of twitter. You can keep your followers updated about your activities related to blogging. If you are reading an interesting article, share it with your followers, if you find any useful web tool and resource, share it with your followers. Make your twitter stream a valuable asset for your followers. Ask questions to your followers and get engaged in constructive discussions with them. Twitter is a strong networking and social marketing tool. By the way, download twhirl, a desktop client for Twitter. Its simple fast and makes Twittering very easy right from your desktop. Do not forget to follow me on Twitter, link is in my signature. ![]() |

Hmmm, twitterfeed huh? I think I will have to give that a whirl since I hate to login into twitter just to post, when I am in a hurry that is.

Similarly, create an account on TwitterFeed and give your post feed URL and set the refresh rate time of feed updation check. It just takes 2 minutes. Once it is done, then as you will publish your blog post, it will be automatically picked up by twitterfeed and your post will be automatically tweeted to all your followers... Happy Tweeting... :-)
