Hi, I was wondering if you guys could help me. This is my website: Hedge Against Speculation and it looks like I`ve been losing a lot of unique visitors in the past month. I still have been updating my website regularly with new articles. And the articles are also longer than before but I went from getting 188 unique visitors a day to under 90... What am I doing wrong...please help me! |

I think the question really just raises more questions. Some of these might be: What kind of statistics tools are you using? It would probably be helpful if you could list as many stats as possible. Like, where do your readers come from, and are visitors dropping from one channel or do you have a drop across the board? Have you been promoting the site as much lately as you did earlier? Could some of your earlier traffic be attributed to people merely checking it out because of the name, url or topic - and then deciding that they were not that interested after all? Are you getting any feedback from readers? How long have you had the site for? Could your traffic be influenced in part by what goes on in the financial markets? I notice you have a 'brand new blog layout.' Since when? Could this be correlated to the drop in traffic? |

I think the answers may lie in your stats tool. Maybe you had a large referrer which isn't sending anything anymore; what about search engine traffic? I'm guessing a source dried up. You should always be looking for more sources as some are always disappearing.

Hi, I think it will be really hard answering that question without the use of analytics. I guess your should look under the referrers section of your analytics. Just send me a PM if you need more help.

greetings guys, I'm pretty new to blogging so I probably can't be much help but thanks for the advice on keeping multiple streams due to the fluctuations in traffic....I guess the "don't put all your eggs in one basket" rings true ![]() But for the guy that posted this thread what I can say is your blog looks pretty cool, it's nicely laid out so i don't think aesthetics are your problem...I need to go install my stats tracking actually so thanks for the reminder ![]() Keep choosing guys ![]() Grant |
