I am looking to increase the traffic to my blogs, I have registered at link referral and have just signed up at Entrecard but don't quite get that yet.
What else can I do apart from build backlink on forums and from other relevant blogs?

I see you all over forums so that's good.
Other ways: guest post for people with good blogs. Take the time to put something awesome and pitch it to someone with lot's of traffic. For instance John Cow published a guide of mine and I got a great influx into the forum. Are you on twitter? I mean I added it LATE April and didn't' spend THAT much time; 168 referrals. I can see twitter becoming a massive stream. Apart from that maybe try trading posts with similar styled blogs.

Cheers Rob.
I think the Twitter thing will be where I head next, if nothing else it will give me something different to blog about.

Twitter is definitely good. I like it a lot. I mean I've met people I'd never of had the chance and it's in it's infancy.
Whatever you do dont get desperate and spammy lol. It's just so easy when nothing is happening. Remember the net is massive and interconnected and people just don't KNOW that you are around yet. Give it time write about what you love and it will come.

Twitter has been awesome for me. Once you get a good amount of HUMAN followers, it's like a broadcasting medium. Use Twitter as a TOOL and don't abuse it. Bloggeries suggestion of writing guest blogs posts on sites that are already established in your niche is probably the single most important thing I have done. Some of the advantages include:
Name Recognition Back Links Expanding Your Audience Sure, it sucks when you write a great article and publish it on someone else's site, but I think in the end justifies the means. Other than that, bust your ass and write great, original content which adds value to the web instead of writing the same garbage that already exists. |
