I don't see any connection between your site getting indexed in directories and your traffic going up. The most possible scenario is that someone stumbled one of your posts and you got a flood off of that.

If people came off directories , your traffic would've been sustained.

One characteristic of social media traffic is that it wears off eventually within 24-48 hours, most of the time. I guess this was one.
