I liked seeing no. 5 there. So many people seem to think those things don't matter anymore, but they do. It's a mark of professionalism and shows that the author didn't get lazy with what they were doing.

| Quote:
Directory Subs Reciprocal Links Article Repository links They can be the foundation of a link profile, but certainly nothing more. So, the SEO value of article marketing is limited. Consider that if someone likes the article, they are going to link to the version on the respository, not you, so this further limits the value Quote:
You see, all marketing activities have an associated cost and thus a ROI. These days, the values gained from article marketing can make for bad ROI unless highly targeted. If you pay some monkey $10 for an article and $20 to have some other monkeys distribute it (with identical titles and link texts) to some 100 article repositories U are simply not doing it right. Tell me, how tough would it be to have a search algorithm track down 100 new backlinks, all from the same duplicated content, from a bunch of know entities (article repositories) and the completely devalue all the links that fit the profile? Not tough at all I can tell you. So, all I am saying is that it is an old-school method of marketing that should be considered a minimally effective tactic. I am not against it, just being realistice. We have done article marketing for many years with clients across many varied markets.... I am intimately familiar with the tactic...and it is aged.. value has been dropping.

| 2. No promotion in resource box Most make use of the resource box when submitting articles as a advertisement spot. It will be like "XXX.com offers the best article marketing tips which will help you boost your traffic by 120%!!". Seriously, this will not work. Change it to something descriptive, not boastful and try to show the expertise which you have. It can be something like "Wayne Liew has been blogging since the age of 16. Despite of his young age, he owns a blog over at Wayne Liew Dot Com which he shares his knowledge gethered over the years in high quality blog posts. The good news for you is that Wayne Liew is going to release a blog post series on article marketing which will certainly help you in traffic building for blogs". Indeed, putting in too boastful or overwhelming marketing terms can be annoying. Something descriptive and has a call-to-action is more enticing, especially now that online readers are now more discerning of sites that only meant to do hard sell. |
