SEO Help? Getting off page 3 of Google

My blog is currently on page 3 for the exact match of "adsense blog" and on page 6 for broad match on Google.

I was just hoping some SEO pros would be able to dispense some advice on how I can move up a few pages with my Living on Adsense Blog. SEO isn't really my thing as I really only know the basics.

I'm looking to learn more but I am really not sure where to start.

jeez man..... where to start? Its not exactly a bed time story..well, it makes U sleepy at least. When U say U know 'the basics' - what's that exactly?

tell me whatcha know bro... i can suggest some directions.

..ok, at a glance you certainly could use more backlinks. More importantly, targeted ones.

I find it important in blogging to balance post titles with SEO and conversions. Meaning that I should not only focus on a catchy title (conversion) but also remember where SEO enters into the game.

When people link to you they will often use;

1.your name
2. your domain name
3 your post title

The last one is where we're concerned. Your most recent blog reactions have link text such as;

Play Hide and Go Seek With Your Adsense Ads
Living on Adsense
earn less money from advertising
infamous episode of his blogging powers being taken away

Now I am not sure what your targets are (keywords/phrases being targeted), but most of the terms there aren't likely polished.

By thinking of target terms as well as 'title grabbers' you can generally improve rankings fairly easily.

I would also supplant any SEO Blog knowledge with some studies of social media marketing.

Get backlinks with the anchor text you want to attack.

Bold your keywords, use them as title tags for pages, put them in the titles of your posts when possible, use them as meta keywords. Install All In One SEO Pack, that helps a lot.

Land Locked? You say that like it is a bad thing. Try living on Vancouver Island- You can't leave after 9:00 unless you fly. It's a prison.
