Use emptyspaceads to boost your RSS subscriptions & send your visitors to pages that monetize well!

Hello everyone!

I know one of the biggest challenges in building a blog is building distribution and getting those repeat visitors. That's one reason why I recently quit my full-time job at Microsoft to start emptyspaceads.

It's my hope to work with ad networks to serve their ads in your website's empty space. Right now, we just having ads from ShoppingAds... but in the meantime, you can create your own TextAds, ImageAds, and even HTMLAds that spur your users to perform an action you want them to do.

For instance, you can push users to subscribe to your blog, advertise with you on your site, or even refer them to your CafePress buy a t-shirt page. I know this product isn't perfect, but I really want to hear from you on how I can make it better!

It's an interesting idea, and it looks like you've created the technology to bring it off. I like the fact that the ads are not covering content, and they can be dismissed.

It'll be interesting to see what sorts of results people have with them.

Hello erikko... great question!

There's a longer explanation on our site, but I'll summarize here for your convenience:

We do have a revenue sharing program when you serve ShoppingAds in your website's empty space. Basically 50% of the time we request the ad from ShoppingAds with your publisher ID with them (you'll need to sign up for a ShoppingAds account if you don't already have one), and 50% of the time we'll request an ad with our publisher ID.

We hope to add additional ad networks to our platform in the future, giving you even more choice. In the meantime, you can also create your own TextAds, ImageAds, or custom HTMLAds we we have running on our blog.

Thanks very much Jay! It means so much to me to get great feedback like this... it makes quitting my job at Microsoft make sense . I'd love you to try it out and let us all know how it works for you. I'd also love to feature anyone who tries out our product on our homepage and/or blog!

We launched a V1 June of 2007. I quit my job at Microsoft in January of 2008. And we launched our V2 in February of 2008. I've been getting a great response and everyone has (mostly) positive feedback about the ads. We've been seeing high CTR for our publishers which also feels great! After all, we only succeed when you do!
