How Many Hours Do You Spend on Marketing Your Blog

I'd like to have an idea on anyone's average time spent on marketing their blog. Any blog marketing tricks would also help I newbie like me.

I really don't spend a lot of time on marketing. Rather mostly on posting as the posts are automatically indexed by Google. I do spend a little time now and then tagging my posts for dig, technorati etc and posting comments with my link to other blogs.

What do you mean tagging your post for digg and technorati. Don't you already do that on your post?

It depends on what software you are using. I use typepad and so yes technorati tags are there to a degree but I still spend time browsing the site and adding links and digg does not automatically include my posts.

So do you normaly submit your post to digg?

You can use a service like socialmarker.com and bookmark your posts to up to 20 sites.

For me "Marketing" includes going around to other sites and commenting, adding widgets, removing widgets, pushing my posts to various communities (not digg style but forums). I could spend all day marketing and it's a tough balance to find.

Not much before this week.

This week I've spent around 2-3 hours straight (which is hard for me, believe me) writing up guest posts that will be submitted to a few 'bigger' bloggers out there. We'll see how it goes.

I never really considered guest posting. What exactly is approach on this? Do you just send your article or notify them first then write the article?

Guess post and blog writing projects are good way promoting your blog. Adwords is also another option
