You can never have too many quality links. The only thing you want to avoid is keeping up a pace that you can not maintain or unnatural looking patterns. Things to avoid are buying many site wide links and links in bad neighborhoods.

I presume you are talking about "outgoing links" rather than incoming links?

As long as you dont have huge long lists of links you'll be fine, make sure you are linking to good sites that are relative and fear not!

Yeah, I'm sorry but I misread the original post. As a rule of thumb, you do not want more than 100 links on any page. More than that screams link farm. Looking at your site in particular, I would add more surounding text for each link. It is much better when the links are in strong content.

Default Lots of Outgoing Links are Fine if it's to Related Websites.

To add on to what Scott said don't worry about it if you are linking to sites that are relevant and fishing related. Also as Scott alluded dont' make a big list like someone paid to get on the list it looks spammy. Best way to link is talk about the site in a blog post then offer a link. Search engines will not peanlize you for that as it's the core of the web. I think you have a great niche, I"ve already gotten some Shark fishing traffic to your posts. Good luck and you know I"ll be sending you a PM here if I ever make it to South Africa!
