What Search Engine is Your Major Source of Traffic?

I have to say.. its G, and with my pictures, I do get alot through G's image search. I love seeing one of my stevies on the 1st page!

Alt Text - YES!! It is amazing what has been picked up. I threw a Devin Hester Sketch up on Superbowl weekend.. I always make sure they are tagged with good descrips.. and it was picked up in 2 days on MSN ranking in position 160 or so..

Has anyone used the enhanced image labeler in G's webmaster tools? If you want to sit and do something pretty mindless..after you are up for hours..(rob and paul) staring blankly into your screen.. it can be pretty entertaining to see what people equate with certain images.

I have no clue how good the quality of image traffic is but it's definitely an easy to do thing and only takes a few minutes. I try and always do it.

I guess if you had a blog about pictures, photos, images, sketching and drawing, it would be even more relevant.

I knew there was some what of an importance from the trade show blog.. images are searched fairly regularly for displays.. and one day.. I was looking at the display blog..and thought why and how are people coming in for SRV .. and it was one of the donations I made for a charity event.. then I knew the significance.

So yes.. if related to that type of industry.. its a great idea to be diligent

Even more ironic though, that particular picture was not titled correctly for alt tags.. it was the post.. but I have noticed now, with the Art blog.. that it gets alot of traffic off the image titles

big G definitely, and one thing about big G, they send people of different nationalities, i know because i put a language translation widget on my blog... not much non-english visitors, i guess about 10% total traffic at most!
