One of the hardest things to do with a blog is to make your traffic constant. While you can accomplish a surge with some methods, it is hard to keep those users coming back.
One of my most successful traffic drivers has been my Handwriting meme. You are welcome to participate. ---- 1. Choose a pangram of your liking, the most common being (“The quick brown fox jumps over a lazy dog.” ) 2. Write it on a piece of paper and sign it with your blog name or online handle. 3. Take a picture and post it to the flickr group, your blog, myspace, facebook or all of them. 4. Link back or trackback to this post. (Handwriting Meme Redux -- - Logtar’s Blog -) 5. Tag five people. ---- Even thought this one is not as fun or creative as some other ones, it really spread the first time. This is my second time doing it and it seems to be gaining some steam. I ended up with a Flickr group with over 1200 users and probably at least 10 new regular readers from this to my actual blog. I did get about 300 linkbacks to my site from the first round. To this day I get about 10 actual hits from links to it. When creating a meme, make sure that it entices the person to link back to your blog as the creator, or to ping you back. Make sure to put a number of people they should tag, the person doing it can chose not to do it, but tagging others is what makes it spread. |

That's a really good idea. Thanks for sharing. I may have to participate later when I get a chance!
