Does anyone use Keyword Research when writing a blog entry?

Does anyone use keyword research tools like Trellian or Wordtracker to choose the search phrases to be used in your entry?
Using the phrases that people are using which will have high Keyword Efficiency Index could increase number of targeted visitors from search engines to your blog dramatically. So, it could be feasible to write your article or entry SEO optimised before you publish it.

I have a few keyword phrases in mind when writing my blog in general, but I no longer do research for individual posts, I just write.

Yes, I do spend some time on research for commercial sites, but I have found that there really isn't an exact formula. I think in keyword mode when I write for my commercial sites. I just write for my blogs for the fun of it and if I can work in a keyword that may be relevant, then I do.

Nah. I probably should, but I don't. I've looked at them before out of curiosity, but I certainly don't use them religiously like a lot of people do.

I have a key phrase for each of my information articles thatI make sure I use at least twice, but I don't research how it ranks or anythign like that.

Nope I don't. But if I do, I'm sure I'd write less than what I'm writing these days, LOL.

I used to write posts almost exclusively based on keywords. I find one thing to be weird though; find a HIGH KEI and 1 week later it's a low KEI... Pie in the sky kei's aren't as good as the old established 50-100. I find...

I didn't do some keyword research when writing a blog.. i just do some keyword research by the time I started my blog but not in every posts...

I have in the past done a google search on my planned title to see what the competition's like. Sometimes I still will, but it doesn't change what I write about.

Somedays I wish google woudl have a 'call for content' type arrangement, where it would say 'X people have searched for Y querry and found no relevant sites'.
