Default Wierd pagerank question
In the last (January) pagerank update I thought that ym blog didn't recieve one, and was a bit dissapointed about it.

However, the 'About' page of my blog now appears to have a pagerank of two, while my main page still has a PR of 0. Is this right? Is it wierd of just me?

About Page

Does this mean I can apply for paid blogging positions ir one of my page has a pagerank, even if my main page doesn't?

Means you have more incoming links to your about me page, than you do to the main domain.

Nope, I don't think so somehow.

I use teh google toolbar to find backlinks, and there's 6 or 7 pages of them listed for the homepage, and 3 (3 links, not 3 pages) for the about page.

Pagerank is passed off incoming links. If you have PR on your about page and none on your home page, means that more PR is being passed off the incoming links to your about page than to your home page.

What your experiencing is not uncommon.

I have more incoming links to this page Available 4 letter dot com domain names - The complete list than to any others. when I had PR it was always 1 point higher than the home page.

But I have never submitted the 'about' page to any directory or any sort of linking program, only ever the home page.

Visitors and friends could of bookmarked the about page instead of the homepage.

Does your about page rank higher than your home page in the serps?

There could possibly be a problem with the way your blog is being spidered.

Yes that is weird, 62 backlinks to your main page and 9 to your about page and they are all from you. Hmm Well I expect your main page to rate at least a #2 next go around. I bet a 3 is more in order.

Nobody to my knowledge has bookmarked the about page, and I don't know much about serps but whens earching for the site name it's the homepage, not the about page, that shows up.
