Hello Blogosphere!

Just wondering...

This happened to me a few time. I write a post, publish it, and next thing you know, some weird blog would link to it.

Let's say with this post: Things I learned in 2007

I got the following trackback, on this blog: The weird trackback

Or even with this post: The other side of the story

Where the words "skin cancer" were picked up somehow (although my post isn't on this subject at all) and linked to a blog displaying all the "skin cancer" terms (link is now gone).

What's the point of that? What's the point of these "blogs"? Should I worry about this kind of trackback? I don't publish them on my blog anyway...

Well, I'm still not vey comfortable with that. I mean, if anyone link to me or quote me (what? I can dream, right!) in a meaningful context, or at least on a real blog, I certainly don't mind.

But since I'm not sure what are these "blogs" for...

Ask them whatt on earth they are doing and if they can stop, if you can see a way to contact them. They might be trying to catch some of your search engine traffic?

Nope, no way to contact any of the two blog owner... the "about" section is empty (well, it's the WordPress default one) and there is nothing personal on the blog. Just a collection of posts by other bloggers.

Can you tell how old it is? It may be an attempt to set up an easy blog for PPP.

Only December archives are available for the "Hot Blog", so I guess a month.
