I signed up yesterday! Seems like a great idea.

Well I think your idea is a good one. Here comes my "However".

However, I just spent the past 30 minutes trying to upload an avitar (image) on the sign-up page but I kept getting a failure. I've resized the image to under 50x50 pels and it still gets kicked off. I tried both .jpg and.gif No help.

So, any ideas?

yes it has to be exactly 50 * 50 * not smaller and not bigger

Like Brian said - exactly 50x50 and .jpg or .gif. This is something that will be changed in the future to make the process simpler.

No, not really. Gravatars are the ones that show next to your name when you comment on a blog (if the blog has it enabled), aren't they? Sivatar is where you upload your avatar....and they're all listed so you can thumb through people's icons. There's also a chat/promotion area where you can talk about your lastest post or what your site is about, etc....or even just chat with fellow Sivatar users.

Currently I've had limited success with Sivatar, but at least I've been able to generate some extra pageviews! I recommend giving it a shot and reporting back here as to how much traffic it has brought back to your blog!
