A good commenting strategy in place can help a blog to generate steady stream of traffic. A well crafted comment will yield a good amount of traffic for an extended period of time. A good strategy involves selecting the blogs carefully based on their reputation and the subject it deals with to give good comments. Please share your commenting strategy so that it will be helpful for others.

Yes, good comments always carry a weight that draws attention to the blog associated with it. Every blog should have a good comment policy published. Having good comment policy in a blog will help the commentators to give quality comments.

I suppose I should have a "commenting strategy" but I really don't. I've tried different processes before when it comes to how often I comment or what I comment on, etc, but nothing that I would really recommend. Nowadays, I mostly use it to try to get to know the bloggers, get involved, and maybe lead to connections elsewhere instead of to fuel traffic.

I love getting comments, but getting people to comment is really difficult. Probably for most blogs, every 10 comments represents 100 visitors to that site? I have a widget which shows off most recent comments on the side of the blog. I tend to think (maybe) that people will be more likely to join in a conversation if they can see there is a conversation. I do try to comment on a few blogs here and there, but that's not really a big strategy for me. That takes too much time, and I don't want to be a spammer. So if I find something interesting to leave a comment on, I will. I hope that that person will check out my blog, but that's not expected. Mostly I just post content and hope for the best.

My commenting strategy is to comment via a "Link back" from my blog. I only try to comment on blogs posts that are related to my blog. And I always ensure that I provide a quality comment as it's representing me. I hate the 1 liner "Great Post", I consider that spam.

| Great post! ![]() But no, really, I hate those kinds of comments, too. Here in the forums, I delete posts like that, so I would do the same on my blogs and would never leave a comment only saying that.

If I come across an interesting blog, or article at a site then I will comment. I only comment if I feel like I have something to say, and I'm trying to find more things that are relevant to my blog.
