| Hello, I’ve recently put my blog back online, I originally took it off because the Avg. Time on Site was about 2 minutes and I didn’t think it was good enough. Now I’m wondering if 2 minutes is actually that bad and do you have any advice on how to raise this? My Blog: www.the-tech-tutorial.com |

I think that two minutes is a highly respectable time on site. It would be very difficult to get even to two minutes thirty seconds or three minutes. The human eye can digest quite a bit in two minutes. If you want to make your time on site longer, try making your articles a little longer, or definitely do a combination of both articles, photos, and other media, giving your audience more than one thing to hold their attention to that specific blog post. Good luck!

Maybe add links to you related posts, that may cause visitors to view them. Images can help, I once stayed on a Chinese blog for over an hour, due to some nice captivating images of their landscape.

You can also optimize the second part of your articles. For most people, two minutes means reading half of an article. Also, make inbound links visible in the first section of each web page. __________________ Lloyd Burrell Publisher Office Desk Reviews |

Maybe you may want to put some interesting videos or something that requires attention on your website. It will improve your average time.

The average person can read 200 to 300 words per min, any extra time spent might be browsing time or maybe something that interests them, some people can read faster, so if the people on your site are reading your articles, it is also good that you know what they are looking at, for example some sites do not have much articles but they have lots of images, however the time spent in those sites can go up to 3 or more mins. A good example of these site are sites that uses MGID traffic exchange. You might want to track you visitor's activity on your site, try using clicktale[dot]com to track eye and click movements. Visitors that stays are better then bounce, so make sure you track whether your visitors doesn't leave with less then 1 page view, your visitors stayed for 2 mins so I can assume that your visitors love your content. |
