I'm just interested in current techniques folks are using to market their blogs. I current have this blog: Adelaide and South Australia blog I'm enjoying it loads, but arent getting the traffic/subscriptions/followers quick enough that I would like! ohh woah is me.. suggestions? what is everyone using as their marketing techniques? |

Probably it will help if you could define your target audience first and then searching for them where they hang out. Once you've done this, suit the marketing method to that audience. Some advice that you are going to get here is like a one size fits all method. It may work for others but not for you. There are no rules to follow. Just do what you are comfortable with.

Your blog is almost brand new - I'd say that it's too soon to evaluate your success. That's not to say that it isn't worthwhile to do some reaching out - finding related forums and related blogs and participating, for example - but if you have very little traffic, that's not yet a sign of anything at all being wrong. I would say, though, that the line "This blog is designed to promote the city of Adelaide and South Australia" is potentially a problem. People don't like to be told, "Hey! I'm trying to convince you of something!" They pretty much instantly start to resist. Even one word change, to "This blog is designed to celebrate..." might reduce that resistance. |
