how long do you take to start earning?

I'm relatively new to blogging, almost a year, and I've made over $100. In the very beginning it was very slow going and picked up after I got a following through social sites. Keep at it the money will come.

It does take time and effort. It is hard not to get disheartened but I guess you just got to keep on going. If it only took 2 months to start earning some nice money then everyone would do it! (even though most people blog anyways But You just got to keep at it. Perseverance and eventually the results will come whether it be in 2 years time or 10 years time....

Might as well do it now so people recognize that you need to monetize your blog. suppose the shock your readers will become when you suddenly beginning to monetize your blog 6 months, 1 year or any time later from now.

It took me over 9 months to start earning from my blog. However, keep in mind that I don't earn money from my blog by using ads or anything like that. I use my blog to promote my phone and email coaching services, which are not cheap. Usually, a high level of trust needs to be built with a reader if they're to buy an expensive product or service and this takes (among other things) time

I realize that some people will beat the odds and have some fabulous famous blog, and earn a lot of money. However, I think the odds of that are sooo tiny. Most people will never get rich blogging.

And if you ask me, the blogs that become hit blogs, are usually started by people with a passion for a topic, and not people who go into it trying to get wealthy blogging.

Great post, I completely agree with you. But I think that instead of using adwords. I would go down the affiliate route and talk about products then promote them.
