Default My Blog

Hi All

My blog specialies in real life stories of panic disroder, anxiety, OCD, Intrusive thoughts and Anxiety. I beleive in the power of positive thoughts and are simply sharing them to you all. Please see below of a preview of a story from my site.

The People Pleaser
Today I had a friend come to me and tell me she was experiencing anxiety attacks. She said she felt stressed out and was constantly worried. She explained that it was herself that was making her feel that way, as she is always questioning if she has said or done the wrong thing to people. She doesn't ever want to upset anyone.

What came to my mind immediately was that other people have most likely reacted negatively at something she didn't even think would be a worry.
We all get told that we can't please every one and we know this, however we often waste our time trying very hard. The negative aspect in doing this is that we often have to start thinking differently and becoming someone we were not naturally meant to be.
Everyone has the ability to change. Whether it be behaviors, thoughts, responses or addictions. However when we only implement these changes to ourselves when we are around certain crowds, people and situations it leads to feeling very anxious as we are constantly having to think and over analyze our every move. We then feel exhausted.
There are some positives if being mindful of your behaviors and watching what you say before the words are processed by your brain, but we can't be worrying about changing whom we are for someone whose reaction to us, stems from their own personal problems.
My advice is to continue being who you are at all times.
If you are unaware at the time that what you were saying or doing is upsetting someone then that is not your fault.
You have the right to be you, with your own thoughts, opinions and feelings. As long as you are not intentionally being malicious, it is more than likely the other persons' insecurities.

I have a saying that I use whenever I come across someone that makes me feel awful for their benefit.
"MEAN PEOPLE ARE OFTEN VERY SAD INSIDE"
If you think about a time where you have been mean to someone you will find that you had a sadness inside that reacted to that person. Whether you had even met them before not. And it was a sadness that you had not dealt with and let go.
If we all block our self off from feeling anything painful or sad, then we would all be horribly mean to each other all the time. We don't want to be the constant people pleaser. We want to be strong enough as a person to know the difference when someone has unspoken problems.
I want you to focus on a time where you were the mean person whom was sad inside.
This may bring some uncomfortable memories and feelings, which is good, that is what we are aiming for.
We want to relive the pain, understand and accept it and then let it go.
We tend to use other things to mask the pain that we feel, and it doesn't help it. It just prolongs the process.

Again, tell me your stories of when you were mean to someone, and share the sadness inside.
Why were they the person you chose to be mean too?
What feelings came to mind before and after you were mean?
The sadness that you felt before you were mean, do you still feel now?

I want to address the sadness, the guilt and help you to understand yourself, accept who you are, and then let that sadness go.

The only way to be able to be yourself, is to let yourself.
This story and more at blogspot and blog name is thoughtfullytruthful

Thanks

Your blog sounds interesting and pretty powerful. We actually have a separate subforum for this in the Blog Promotion section called "Show Off your Blog!"

You have to have 15 posts to start a thread there, though, so I would suggest checking out other people's blogs and commenting on them. It's a great way to learn about what works and what doesn't in the world of blogging.

Once you've done this, then post your blog and I'm sure you'll get plenty of reactions and valuable feedback. Good luck.

@thoughtfullytruthful - What ajwalsh said above is perfect. Please make a thread in the "Show off your blog" forum after you've made 15 posts.
