I just finished reading an article from Newsweek magazine titled, "Time to Hang Up the Pajamas: I learned the hard way: While Blogs Can Do Many Wonderful Things, Making Huge Amounts of Money Isn't One of Them." ByDaniel Lyons. The entire article was about a man who obsessively blogged for 3 years, trying to make big money from his blog. He went on to say that he had over 500,000 hits one day and only earned about a hundred dollars through adsense (this is one of the reasons why I am NOT a supporter or Adsense). As a result, he gave up on his blogging dream and wrote an article about it in Newsweek. Okay, so why then does the Shoemoney blog generate 12,000 dollars PER MONTH? Or why BoingBoing.net make a million plus per year? I'm glad they didn't take this guy's advice. No offense Daniel, but you were going about it all wrong. I know from personal experience that atleast my blog has make great income and I don't have as much traffic as you did. If you were relying on Adsense to make you rich, you were headed for disappointment anyway. There are so many other BETTER ways to make an income from your blog such as affiliates, direct sales, sponsorships, etc. I could go on and on. It makes me sad to see really popular blogs give up. They were so close! They just didn't know how to go about it the right way. |

Man I get sick of you and your types coming on here with your 'Expert' junk pretending you know what you're talking about, only to visit your empty and pathetic websites. The only thing you are doing is rewriting junk from the internet as an excuse to link-drop your site. I'm still waiting for you to answer my previous question and email on where to get a copy of your book. I can't find it anywhere... By the way, using a blog to promote products and affiliates is not blogging, its advertising and promotion wrapped around crap SEO text. Learn the difference, please. |

A blog does not have to be monetized. That's all there is to it. To suggest that because one blog is making more money it's more of a "success" than another is crazy. Not everyone has the goal to make money from a blog, and if the content is attracting people to come visit and read it, that is a success. A paycheck doesn't make you a success.
