Here is a way to convert those casual, one time visitors into repeat, loyal readers:

#1 Not only do you need an RSS feed option (so they can get your latest posts), but you should have an email subscribe option as well. This is for the non-techie reader who can get your latest post through their email. Place this in a very apparent place so that they will all see it. Make it easy for them to come back!

#2 Don't be too broad or vague in your topics. You want highly targeted people who love what you have to say because it satisfies their particular interest.

#3 Gather readers email addresses in exchange for a free list, download, or fascinating article. This not only creates loyalty to your blog, but builds trust that you are the authority on your subject. Remember, when you place your readers first (over money, and everything else), you will come out on top!

All your tips are important. What I’ve discovered as a blogger is that your content should be useful. It needs to provide some sort of value to the reader.

People value different things, but if it doesn’t have value (to somebody), people won’t read it or at least, they won’t visit your blog again.
