Anyone Using Zimbio?

I've just found Zimbio recently, and I've heard from a few people that it's a good way to promote your blog.

I've added a few of my posts to some zines and I've given "kudos" to a couple other people...

Does anyone here use it much? If so I'd be really interested to hear your experience and any advice you might have.

Have not used nor had I had never heard of them, so I hopped over and took a look. Not to belittle your choice to utilize it, but it seems so tabloid-y (yeah, I made that word up up just now) to me. I didn't dive too far into the structure of the site, but how would you keep your submissions from drifting off into the unknown?

At the end of the day, it is yet another site capitalizing on user content, so it will live or die by that user content. The few articles I did read were quite generic. And, if I was Lyndsey Lohan's publicist, I wouldn't that front-page photo of her hanging around too long, ouch.

Thanks, that's good advice.

It does look very entertainment niche specific. Another thing I was unsure about is whether there is really a good way to build community as a member. (I didn't see much in the way of meaningful interaction possibilities that would help build your authority.)

When you select "ping your blog" it encourages you to submit just about everything you've ever posted to one of their "zines," so I definitely raised an eyebrow at how good the majority of the content could be.

Anyway, it at least seems like you get a decent backlink from it, so I'll experiment for a little while at least and report back.
