For those of you who are just starting out, you are going to run into a little problem: It's lack of comments. (Don't worry, they will come if you keep working). There is something so empty about seeing a blog post that has zero comments. To remedy this, I recommend that you turn your comments OFF (temporarily). However, I have been hearing about a new trend: paying someone to leave comments on your own blog. This makes your blog look highly visited. I think it is completely unethical to hire someone to spam other blogs with comments so that they all link back to you, but I am still on the fence about just paying to have comments left on your own blog.I haven't personally done it, however I have heard about it. All your newbies need a start somewhere, right? To see a list of companies that will do this, go to www.nextlevelblogs.com |

No. No. Why would you _pay_ for someone to leave the kind of meaningless, useless comments that people spam to other blogs? Aside from the question of why you would ever, ever, pay for comments anyway?

Yeah, this wouldn't be a good idea... There are ways to get comments in a much more organic way, including the comments thread right above this one. Take a little time and locate blogs you admire and make interesting comments, build a bit of a relationship with the blogger. You'll find they will often follow you to your own blog and leave one for you as well.
