Blogfest and Other Events

Does anybody know of good events, or any events, like BlogFest that help promote your blog?
If so, please let me know here! Thank you so much!

There was recently a big professional bloggers event for women bloggers, in New York City, and it was called "blogher". That was far too spendy for me and I got the impression that most people going were professional bloggers, not little hobby blogs like mine.

You might try to find local tweet ups. Co-Tweet makes an application that many twitterers use, and I, for the heck of it, went to a co-tweet meet up in downtown (Seattle) last week. It was free, and a nice chance to meet some locals, and I saw a few familiar faces from twitter, and did give my blog url address to a handful of people who were interested. You might get involved with twitter for more events like that. But a warning to you, twitter is very slow to use effectively and you won't see results fast.
