Personal Blog Domain Names

What are your thoughts on having a personal blog domain name with your name as the domain. IF it's not your name its something close.

They contain no keywords for your topic but... They are brandable.

What are your thoughts on having a personal blog on a domain name that is your name or close to it?

I actually thought of it for my blog, but I somehow value my "privacy". My real name isn't a secret but I don't feel like I should put it in the domain name. Employer may google me, as well as a bunch of people who aren't really supposed to read my blog in order to have an opinion of me.

I don't usually talk about my private life on my blog, not in details anyway. So using my name in the URL would be weird for me.

I've never given it a thought. I bought bob-baillie.com because I wanted it for my email. I also have baillie-home.com although I'll never use that for anything. I like domains and I like finding nice ones that I can play with. It's really just a toy and I don't mind who knows my name

My domain name is actually my initials, and I "actually" have a plan to make chenpn.com my website and the blog a part of the big website, that also includes things like a photoblog, a resume, etc..

But right now, I only have a blog, LOL.

It's kinda weird. If you use your name in your blog they know who you are. If you make it big they will know who you are either way right?? Being "on the record" as who you are is something that comes hand in hand with being a big wildly popular blog though isnt it?
