You can do some sort of review in your blog about your other website, and then at the end of the review, place a link pointing to it. This is giving your website backlinks from your blog, which is also an important thing to do.

Since blogs are ranked well on search engines, you can get more traffic to your website just by making reviews about it, or putting some backlinks wherever you see it fits. But also remember not to pitch your business.

If your site is a membership site, and you have a subsription form in it, you can put one in your blog and allow them to subscribe to whatever service or product you're promoting. So that allows more exposure and more sign ups. It really depends on what your website promotes...

maybe you can do a contest in your blog related to your website to boost traffic and usage. this will introduce your website & your blog to your target audience. just make sure that your site is regularly updated & has engaging content.

Yes, you are right, blogging is SEO friendly, if your blog has fresh and quality content it would give you good benefit from search engine also.

Blogging is a very effective way of promoting a website. On my blog i post reviews or descriptions of products on my eshop.
I also posted a few about SEO and stuck on some reviews about tv shows, just for fun.
