Yes. Just make sure that the comment you make isn't "spammish." Don't post something like "Hey, nice post. Check out my site (yoursite)" Blog owners will render this as spam, delete the comment, and not even think twice about visiting your site. In order for you to increase your traffic through comments, you need to post thorough, on-topic, helpful comments that are meaningful. The blogger and the people reading the blog will then become more inclined to visit your site, seeing as you post informative things. |

if it's in within the same genre that you are blogging about it will. If you blog about cars but are commenting on a food blog it's not likely to bring you regular visitors. comment on sites that are similar to yours and it will |

As mentioned, you probably won't see much direct traffic but you will be creating some valuable backlinks, which are they main determinant of where you rank in the search engines. That anchor text is why your "Name" should be your primary keyword you want to rank for rather than your name or your blog's title. I would start by finding a few blogs in your niche with high PRs that you enjoy reading and start commenting on them regularly. Dofollow/Nofollow is mostly a myth put out to help reduce link spam. Don't pay too much attention to it. Nofollow links DO count, regardless of what anyone says. |

I wouldn't focus too much on blog commenting, it's not as helpful as you think for building backlinks. Google's algo is getting more strict on blog comments. From Fuzzuck.com: Quote:

It can help you increase traffic but not as much as when you submit them to bookmarking sites & social media webpages. You can't really squeeze your whole page on a comment-version of a blog. Comment when you want to build relationships within your niche. Use Social Networking sites to magnify them. |

Yes, commenting on other blogs will drive traffic for sure. It depends on the popularity of the blog you are commenting on and the quality of your comment. If your comment adds value to the blog post of the blog author, then people would definitely visit your blog to more about you. Another strategy would be is to comment on the posts before anybody else comments on it. This will help in getting your comment noticed by other commentators before commenting and the blog owner as well. |

It definitely helps because of the following reasons:
By the way, I have enabled the "dofollow" attribute for comments on my blog. Of course, I check all comments before approving them. But it's an incentive and a way to say "thank you" to people who take a moment to comment on my blog. Hope it helps, Melissa
