Does directory submission get any traffic/

Will I get any traffic by submitting my website to web directories?

Generally it just gets you indexed better in search engines which means you will get a better search ranking and as a result more traffic. But you need to be careful that you don't submit to the link farms as that that can have the opposite effect

I agree! I think directory submissions are more of building backlinks for your website and getting indexed but they do not truly bring in traffic.

they don't bring in much traffic at all. I check my logs daily and i probably have 10 links from blog catalogs a month

well, actually the directory submission is used to get back links and better indexing from search engines. I don't think directory submission brings traffic.

i think directory submissions is a better way to get better search engine ranks than getting traffic. u get traffic but not as much as say, Facebook, Twitter & other social media sites.
