| You know what is the first thing that you need to know about bloggers? No, it wasn’t they love to get comments from their blog readers! If you are a first time commentator there is a good chance the blogger will check out your blog, this is mainly due to them wanting to know who is commenting, and after all if you took the time to post a comment the least they could do is have the courtesy to click your name. This is especially true if the blog is dofollow, after all bloggers don't want Google to think they are linking to porn or anything, so they usually moderate their comments strictly. There are two potential outcomes from this: 1.The blogger clicks your name which is +1 to your traffic count, he or she then hastily leaves as your website lacks what he is looking for, not very impressive eh? 2.The blogger clicks your name, lands on your blog and gets overwhelmed with your amazing content, after further inspection they decide your blog is worth adding to their RSS reader, score! Obviously I can’t write your content for you, for the simple fact that you can’t afford me. Only joking, I just have too many projects on at the moment! What I can do is offer you some tips for catching those potential subscribers. • Use an inner page on your blog – Although your home page may be good, you could increase conversions by linking to an inner page related to the blog you are commentating on. • Link to a landing page – When I say ‘landing page’ I don’t mean the long sales type, what I am referring to are the type of landing pages that give a little information which outlines what your blog is about and a link to your best posts and all that. • Link directly to your feed – This technique requires your content to be absolutely amazing, when a blogger clicks through all they will see is your latest posts and a option to subscribe. With this method you won’t have any fancy designs or videos to keep their attention, you have to rely solely on your content, ask yourself this: Is your latest post good enough on its own to make someone subscribe? The above techniques all revolve around one thing, high quality content, and to be honest without high quality content you’re not going to grow your blog at the speed you are hoping. After you gain some traction in the blogosphere you will start to realise that your readers will start promoting your content for you which takes some of the work off you. |

| How Comments Can Lead to Real Traffic So, we’ve established that great content is rule number one. Without it, all traffic to your blog is pretty much a waste. Beyond that, the secret to blog comments that ultimately lead to traffic establish… …relationships. Shocking, I know. Think about it. It’s no secret that many of the people who comment on blogs are also bloggers. They simply have more motivation to take the time to comment. So when you meaningfully participate in the community aspect of a blog, you’re creating meaningful relationships with people who can send you significant traffic—bloggers and other active social media users. Getting links, re-tweets, social media votes and bookmarks… this is the way that content spreads. This is the way you get real traffic that actually matters. This doesn’t entail kissing up to the blog owner (most of us hate strategic-sounding praise). What it means is creating a network that provides the payoff for all the effort you’ve put into your content. It takes time, but at least it actually works. |

It does work, or at least for me it has. It does take time but when I look at my stats I see a lot if traffic is coming from blogs I've commented on
