Why the Shoemoney blog makes $103 thousand per month

I know, I know, when I first read this stat, I didn't believe a guy actually made 103k per month FROM HIS BLOG. It's actually true (yes, I checked. He was featured on Business Week and New York Times, etc.) After digging around, here is what we can learn:

1. You do not have to rely on google adsense to make money. Once your blog is big enough, offering private advertising and affiliate marketing is also quite lucrative.

2.Being a slave to google by optimizing your keywords so you rank well on search engines is kind of a waste. Once you start focusing your attention to quality posts, the traffic and loyalty will surely follow.

3. Post often and give your blog time to grow! Shoemoney has been going for six years. I bet the guy is glad that he didn't give up after a few months when he was still small potatoes.

this is a nice post. i know it's hard for a lot of us that are just starting out and this is a very inspirational post.
