Anyone submit their article through here? Did they get more traffic? I'm thinking of paying $20 to be higher on their searches.

I submitted mine for free and I think it's a great place!

I have received more traffic since joining a few days ago, but I recommend joining some of the groups

If you ignore the masses of 'follow me follow you' spammers then you can actually find real readers who are interested in your blog, if you are original, enthusiastic and your main interest in blogging isn't the money then RBU are an awesome group to join

Participating in the discuss forums by saying something that stands out or is a little unusual also seems to get people visiting your page and possibly your blog.

I notice that when you find someones blog, and you click on it, the url of your site becomes http://www.blogcatalog.com/blog/"yourwebsite" instead of www."yourwebsite".com. Will this affect my traffic negatively in any way?

I only noticed that today, normally I open all links in a new tab and then it directs straight to the blog address, I wouldn't know how it would affect traffic

Does anyone know if it is worth it to pay the $20? More specifically, the fine print says that it is first come first serve, so if you pay $20 and five other people already have the top 5 visible spots, your blog gets no attention. ???

Blogcatalog.com looks like an interesting place, though I'm still figuring out how to best use it. It feels like there should be an easy way to comment on blogs, but I don't see it. I must be just missing it. ???

It's not really $20. If you go to your account and click upgrade, the prices actually vary. On the main "Humor and Laughter" it prices $90 a month, and the sub categories of that is like $8 like "crude humor", "religion humor" etc.
