Right now my goals differ for each blog, but for my more personal one I would love to hit 50 blogger followers. For my movie review blog, consistently over 500 a day is the next hurdle. |

Great thread everyone. I would have to chime in that I think everyones goal will change with time. When I launched my first blog about an upcoming trip I would have thought 100 page views in the first month would have been a lot thing is we had that in the first 48 hours. My new and I think lofty goal is to have 10000 page views by the end of our trip in three months time. Beyond that I know my wife is fascinated with all the analytics which is weird because she hates numbers (math) but she was super happy to find people finding us through google searches and she also really cherishes return visits. We had a conversation today about taking video along the way and doing youtube embedded videos in the blog and that if we did some really cool ones we could get 10000 or even 100000 views of those and I was beaming ear to ear with the thought of 100000 people watching me do silly things across the country. Sorry if this is the size of a post instead of a reply... |

This can be deceiving, especially for blogs, because often there is a ton of information on the main page of a blog. So if someone comes to your blog, reads the content on the main page for 30 minutes, then leaves the site, it is going to be counted as a "bounce" and the visitor's time spent on the site is going to be shown as 0:00. The reason for that is basically because they calculate the length of the visit by subtracting the first and last pageview of the visit, so if there is only one pageview, there is no way for them to gauge the time spent on the site by that visitor. Anyway, my point is, especially for blogs, the length of visit stat can be deceiving. |

Of course, its also kind of like money or square footage in your home. No matter how much you have - after a month or so, you'll start wishing you had more! ![]() Larry lourceyphoto.com |

I also think it depends on the goal of your blog. Is it for money or anything else? If it's for money, the total of your visitors don't really matter, what matter is more to conversion. Lots of visitors and they don't earn your money, then they are useless if you blog for money. Having too much visitors cost you bandwith if they don't convert.. |

Each for their own I say! Everybody has different goals in the back of their minds that they would like to reach! Make those goals and once you reach them! Pat yourself on the back and be real proud of yourself! |
