I found out about this post in my stats. Looks like people are clicking on the first commentator which is ironically the bloggeries forum.

They are banning people left right and center. Did you notice what just happened recently... MOST general directories got bumped down 2-3 PR notches. From RR6 - PR4, PR 5 - Pr 3, PR 4 - Pr 2!! Also happening to blogs look at johnchow.com and problogger.net used to be PR6 each. Crazy world and crazy times.

The message is clear - don't abuse and break the guidelines

Another excellent plugin to help with SEO for WP is HeadSpace2. I use this and it's AWESOME.

This plugin lets you change how the browser and search engines display the name of your blog without fiddling with any code. You can also add descriptions for each posts, use Yahoo! to select proper tags for posts, select which pages of the blog you want to be 'nofollow', etc etc etc.

There's a lot you can do with it. I'm sure even I'm not maximizing its potential.
