List of paid blog advertising?

I'd be very interested in seeing a list of paid blog advertising options. Outside of Google AdSense I'm not really sure what's available. The few things I have found are based on forcing your website onto people through popups, which I want no part of. If anyone has any suggestions or resources for those who are willing to pay a little for quality advertising that will fetch more readers faster, please post them. I'll try to take all the suggestions and compile them into a list so the information will be available to everyone at a glance.

#1. Google AdSense and other Pay-Per-Click Campaigns

I have made some money with Kontera, Text Link Ads, and Chitika. All 3 have been pretty good for me and provide a good balance to what i'm earning through Google Adsense.

Thanks for the comment chases. Those all sound like good resources for income. Unfortunately we're actually looking for places to advertise our own blogs. This means we would be the ones paying to place our ads on other people's websites, etc. I'm hoping there's more out there than just Pay-Per-Click and banner ads. Any ideas?

knubbl, it's a great list and I will actually bookmark it and keep it in mind if I ever decide to monetize my blog. However, I am not looking for methods of being paid to blog. I am looking for ways to advertise my own blog. Perhaps you could create such a list on your website? I'd most certainly become an avid reader.

Oh I am sorry. I thought you wanted to know about advertising methods. Anyway I guess you could go on every blog and ask whether they would accept a banner of yours in exchange for money. You also might use Google Adwords if you want to get traffic to your web site. Yahoo also offers the same service.
And you could practically use all of the web sites I have mentioned in my post and go there as an advertiser. You can for example buy links from Text link ads etc.

Of course it was helpful, knubbl, thank you. I'm still hoping to find some more unique but direct methods of advertising though. Banner and text ads are a bit limited.

AxiomWolf, I'm a bit puzzled as to why you'd want to buy advertising. You certainly don't need to answer, but I just wanted to mention that I'm pretty sure that it's not usual for a non-commercial blog to market itself with paid ads. If yours is a non-commercial blog (it looks that way so far, but I don't know your plans) I'm not sure if the traffic that you'd get from paid ads would be the kind of traffic that would return.

Again, not really my business. I was just concerned that you might assume that most non-commercial blogs use advertising to get their readers, and I don't think that they do.

I'll always answer questions CF, no worries. Though my blog is anonymous I'm actually a very open person.

Basically the answer boils down to progress. I want to connect to as many people as I can as fast as possible. Though I have had a few returning readers here and there, I feel that my message is only as valuable as the effect it has on people. If no one is reading, how can I expect to change the world?

My blog is fairly new, so regardless it will take time to reach that point. I was hoping to speed up the process.

Most of the options outlined in Knubbl's blog post also have the option to pay for advertising, sometimes you just need to click around the site to find what you're looking for.

However, your best option to advertise your site is through Google AdWords. If you're looking to spend money on advertising, they're the best bang-for-the-buck and will offer the most targeted visitors.
